he first full-time Vice-Chancellor. Was chairman of the high power committee which suggested a thorough reorganisation of higher education. The committee recommended (i) Pre-University course, (ii) Three year degree course, (iii) Masters degree by research, (iv) Institution of B.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees and (v) Formation of a separate Faculty of Arts. After his departure, Mr. P. Parameswara Panikkar, Registrar, discharged the duties of Vice-Chancellor for five months.
