The
N.S.S. College, Pandalam, established in 1949,
is one of the premier institutions of higher learning,
founded by the Nair Service Society under the
dynamic leadership of the late Sri. Mannathu Padmanabhan,
a great visionary and reformer.
With a student strength of nearly 4,000 and teaching
staff around 200 and non-teaching staff about 100,
the college is rated as one of the biggest in the
State. Over the years this institution has developed
into a Special Grade PG College with research facilities
available in some departments. For quite some time
it was a University Centre for M.Phil Course primarily
meant for college teachers. The college evinces
sustained interest in all forms of cultural and
extra-curricular activities. The college Football
stadium and Basketball stadium have been the venues
of many an Inter-Collegiate Tournament. The N.S.S.
Units of the college extend valuable service to
the community around. The college has been producing
consistently good results in the University Examinations
year after year. The University's Regional Study
Centre and District Information Office are also
functioning in the campus.
