The College started functioning from December 1995 as a self financing unaided college offering a one year teacher education programme leading to the B.Ed. The college is founded and managed by National Education Society, Chettikulangara.
 

The campus covering an area of 6 acres of land is located at Kannankode about one and a half kilometers from Pravachambalam Junction. Each department has a separate library in addition to a general library. The college has Physical Science and Natural Science laboratories provided in the departments. Student strength is 107 and there are eight teaching and a equal number of non-teaching staff.
