There are 1340 students on the rolls of the college, with 859 girls and 481 boys. The Staff strength is 78, including 41 teachers and 37 non teachers. Though the college is situated in a socially and economically backward area, it stands first in the result of University Examinations among the first grade colleges situated in Kollam town. The elected representatives of the college Union perform their activities creditably.

Parent Teacher Association is highly active and dedicated to the all round development of the institution. The Merit Awards and prizes instituted by the PTA which comes tof Rs. 40,000/- have been given to the selected students at the general body meeting of the PTA. The NCC unit of the college has 108 cadets. There is also an active unit of the National Service Scheme comprising 250 volunteers.
