Mannaniya
College Union 2001-2002
A Year festooned with Colourful Events
Mannaniya College set an example in the Union activities by
organizing grand fetes for the year 2001-02 with its meager
resources. The inaugural function of the union was glittered
with star - studded line up of guests. Noted Indian writer
Paul Lacharia inaugurated College Union on Oct 17, 2001. Chandramathi,
famous Malayalam writer unfurled the banner of the colourful
programmers of the Arts Club. Columnist Pradeep Pangode released
'Sabdika' College Magazine 2001 - 02. Dr.Jamal Mohamed the
Principal of the College presided over the function.
The
associations of Islamic History, Chemical and Commerce / TTM
were inaugurated by Thoppil Mohamed Meeran, Prof. Harindranath
and Dr. MohanDas respectively. The three-day arts festival
was commenced with the inaugural address of renowned tele
- artist IbrahimKutty on December 18th morning. The unprecedeated
participation of the enthusiastic students made the event
a big success. The academic year 2001 - 02 witnessed a series
of campus programmes from film show to the New Year functions.
Mannaniya College had established an impeceable track record
in sports/ games by exhibiting stunning performance especially
in Volly ball, sports days of the College, held on January
29 - 30 proved the mettle of our sporting community. The newly
started College is still in the nascent stage but the story
of victorious journey of Mannaniya Campus is incredible.

Important
activities during the year 2001- 2002.
N.S.S
Unit by arranged "Tobacco awareness class" at the College
participating near by Colleges, Govt College Nedumangad, Iqbal
College Peringammala, Sree Sankara Vidhyapeedom Nagaroor,
Dr.Weslay Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum conducted the
classes.
During
the year 'Tender Coconut Stall ' was also started at the Campus.
N.S.S Volunteers did cleaning work of K.S.R.T.C buses at Venjaramoodu
Bus station as a part of Independence Day Celebration, 2001.
NSS Volunteers created a 'Vegetable garden'. in the College
Campus. It has been arranged a ' Environment Study Trip '
to "Tropical Botanical Garden" at Palode for NSS Volunteers.
AIDS awareness class was handled by Dr. Amar , Govt Hospital
Peroorkada in connection with the 'World AIDS day ' .
In
related to ' Haritholsavam ' 9th August, 2002, 250 Seedlings
planned by Volunteers in different area at Pangode. The NSS
Unit of the College organized 10 days Special Camp from 21st
December 2001 to 30th December 2001. The special Camp was
inaugurated by Sri. N. Sundaran Nadar , Hon . Deputy Speaker,
Kerala Assembly and the valedictory function was inaugurated
by Sri. S.Shajahan , Deputy Collector , Trivandrum During
the program it has been arranged informative talks by experts
from various field for the benefit of the NSS Volunteers .
The Construction of the Road, Construction of playground etc.
are the achievement of the Camp.
