LIST OF AWARDS AND PRIZES FOR STUDENTS

PRIZES AND AWARDS

Sri. Samuel Memorial Prize: To the student who secures the highest marks in the Degree Examination.

Mrs. Felicita Nessiah Award:  To the student who secures the   highest marks in Indian History in the B.A. History Degree   examination.  Mrs. Felicita Nessiah was the wife of the Late. L.A. Nessiah, Lecturer in History and the first Bursar of the College.

Sri. B. Arumai Raj Memorial Endowment - To the First rank holder in the college with Mathematics as main subject in B.Sc. The Late B. Arumai Raj was the Principal of the College from 1968-70 and was teaching Mathematics.

Prof. J. George Endowment - To the College Champions, both men and women.  Prof. J. George was the first Head of the Dept. of Physical Education in the college.

Prof. P. Ayyappan Pillai Endowment - To the student who secures the highest marks in Physics for the B.Sc. Physics (Main).                               

Prof. I. Joseph Das Endowment - To the two students who secure the highest marks in Mathematics for the B.Sc.(Main). Prof. J. Joseph Das was teaching Mathematics in the Dept. of Mathematics.

Prof. J. Stanlo Jones Endowment - To the students who secure the highest marks in M.Sc. Physics.  Prof. J. Stanlo Jones retired as the Head of the Department of Physics in 2003 March.

Prof. B. Bhavani Amma Endowment - To the student who secures             the highest marks in Chemistry for the B.Sc. (Main) Prof. B. Bhavani Amma was teaching Chemistry in the Dept. of Chemistry.

Anil Kumar Ever-rolling Trophy: For the House that secures highest points in the Annual Athletic Meet

Awards From Management

Best Student Award:

1. A Cash Award worth Rs.500/- each to the best boy student and the best girl student.  The award is on the basis of their studies, attendance, leadership qualities, character, involvement in co-curricular activities and sincerity towards the institution.

2.Cash Prize of Rs. 300/- each to the Degree Students who secure the highest marks in English, Malayalam, Hindi and each of the optional subjects.

3.Students of this college who secure first, second or third place in University Athletic Meet, shall be given cash awards of Rs. 500, Rs. 350, Rs. 200 each respectively.

Merit Day: A Merit Day is conducted every year to honour the winners in Examinations and various competitions.
