Started
in 1981, the Govt College, Chavara was upgraded
into a Degree College in 1991. It is located in
a thickly populated, industrial, agricultural,
fishing and mining area.
At present the strength of students is 580. There
are 35 members on the teaching staff and 30 on
the non-teaching staff. Chavara is an ancient
centre of culture and learning of the erstwhile
Travancore and looks forward to this temple of
learning for its further advancement.
