We aim at preparing students for a life of happiness and usefulness to themselves and to the society at large, by eradicating from their minds all traces of casteism communalism, provincialism, and sectarianism. The ideals followed are the prophecies and teachings of Sree Narayana Guru. The Guru always emphasized that the goal of education is not merely to produce good individuals but to turn out individuals who understand their social responsibilities as integral elements of society in which they live.

The Institution looks upon education as an instrument of socio-economic progress, material advancement and moral and ethical development of individuals in the society.The College is situated in a beautiful place 6 Kms away from Chengannur. It started functioning in 1981, offering Pre-Degree courses in I, II, and IV groups.

A new block was constructed and was formally inaugurated on 31st August 1990. The College was upgraded in 1991 by starting B.Sc. Chemistry. B.A Economics was started in 1994. B.Com with computer Application was started in 1998. M.Sc. Chemistry was started in 1999 and B.Sc Physics in 2001. New Courses B.Sc Computer Science and B.Sc. Medical Microbiology are recommended by the University
